Apart from its serenity and closeness to nature, Bhandardara’s other claims to fame are the Arthur Hill Lake, one of the country’s
largest lakes; Wilson Dam, one of the oldest dams (built in 1910); Mount Kalsubai, the highest peak in Maharashtra (1,646 mtrs.) from where there is a grand view of the lake and the dam, Amruteswar Temple dating back to the Hemadpanti era from the 8th Century.
The cascading waterfalls during the monsoons – the renowned Umbrella falls and the Randha falls. Close proximity to the pilgrim city of Shirdi, Trimbakeshwar and Shanishinganapur also makes Bhandardara a perfect stopover.
